Polish Day

Daniel Kawczynski, Tory MP for Shrewsbury, thinks we should have a national day to celebrate the contribution of the Poles.

In fact, the whole of the West should have such a day, Sobieski Day, on the anniversary of the Battle of Vienna in 1683, when John Sobieski, King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania, prevented the Islamic conquest of Europe.

That anniversary is 11th September.

  2. Oh no, it wasn't. The likes of Osama Bin Laden do not make that sort of mistake.
