Rather North London Than West Bank

Jews was fascinating stuff.

Those on the American Religious Right who subscribe to the weird and rather anti-Semitic theory of Christian Zionism (a five act play in which the Jews disappear at the end of Act Four) should be made to look very hard at Israel and then explain what it is that they like so much about that cross between the old West Germany and the American blue states.

Whereas among (although it wasn't mentioned) the staunchly anti-Zionist Satmar of Stamford Hill, right there in one of the great cities of the world, the real thing quietly proceeds apace.

Think on.

  1. I'm sorry to say the answers will be probably be trite expressions such as "freedom" and "democracy", neither of which is commonly found in the Arab world (apart from in Iraq).

  2. "Trite" hardly begins to describe it.

The Israelis themselves are on the cusp of peace both with Syria and with Hamas, basically by recognising Zionism as part of their past rather than their present. Good for them. Why aren't you ahppy for them?
