Ten Years On

Ten years on from my own Freshers' Sunday, food and, er, water, with my latest fresher tutees last night. They'll do.

Ten years. Where are we all now?

  1. At which university do you teach David? I wonder whether your tutees are aware that they are to receive tuition from potentially the greatest political leader that this country will know. I doubt that they will appreciate it at their age unfortunately. At least you will have the opportunity to handpick some future MPs/Minister. Lets face it, we need something better than the Tories or Lib Dems can offer if we are to unseat Labour. We have faith in you david and just laugh at the pathetic attempts by the 'anonymous' people to supress your movement....keep up the fight!!

  2. You are too kind.

I look after the moral welfare of 16 undergraduates at one of the colleges of the dear old University of Durham. So it's pastoral, but also a peg on which to hang little bits of academia.

Based on last night, I'd say that rule by my tutees would be a most admirable system of government.

  3. so all this talk about the political classes and we discover David that you are typing this blog from an academic ivory tower. So when you talk about broadening those in MPs, I didn't realise you meant broadening it to include....university tutors.

  4. It's not my main or only job. In fact, it's so poorly paid that it's practically voluntary. But it's great fun, so it's well worth it.
