50 years ago today, Blyth elected Eddie Milne. We most certainly do not count the Greens, so no other candidate to the left of Labour has been returned by an English constituency since then.
Apart from George Galloway. Twice. For reindustrialisation, for Lexit, for Gaza, for women's single sex spaces, for fathers' rights, and for so much else besides, let's make it three times.
