Even The Economist now wants non-domicile tax status to be abolished, as advocated by the Labour Party under its last two Leaders, but not under this one.

It is incredible enough that Rishi Sunak could have held an American green card while sitting as a Member of Parliament, and while serving first as Chief Secretary to the Treasury and then as Chancellor of Exchequer. But his wife held one while giving India as her domicile for British tax purposes. On three continents, does no one ever check?

The people who claim that they can barely get by on an MP's salary of £84,144 seem to have no difficulty funding cocaine habits out of it, but Sunak is beyond even that. He sincerely cannot understand how anyone could subsist on anything like so little. On reflection, that was always going to be his downfall. And here we are.
