Kelvin Hopkins has left the Labour Party rather than put up with any more of its interminable "investigation" into him. At 79, I am not surprised that he can no longer be bothered with any of that.
The only MP that they could find to take down was a pro-Brexit supporter of Julian Assange who had been the first MP to nominate Jeremy Corbyn for Leader? Really?
Of the five members of the last House of Commons who said or did anything for Assange, only Grahame Morris is still there, with Hopkins, Ann Clwyd and Ronnie Campbell having retired, and with Chris Williamson having lost his seat.
Yet even in retirement, look at what at least one of them still has to put up with. During the expenses brouhaha, Hopkins was found to be taking the train back to Luton every night, like his constituents. He is still being punished for that.
