Universal free broadband, and a laptop for every pupil, will happen by September at the latest, or the next school year would simply be unable to start. The schools themselves are not going to be open by then. I mean, come on.
Future doctorates will be written on how, speeded along by Covid-19, a majority of 80 had enabled the Conservative Party to implement much of the programme of Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell without having to worry about either 20 Thatcherite MPs on its own side or 150 Blairite MPs on the other side.
Like the Universal Basic Income, even if they called that something else in order to save face, there will be universal free broadband this year. Done by the Tories.
