A Billion Pounds For Flood Defences?

A billion pounds for flood defences it is, then. At least.

As the Member of Parliament for North West Durham, the price of my support for any Government, even a Corbyn Government, would be the necessary support for a number of projects in each of the former District Wards equal to the former number of District Councillors. Here in Lanchester, one of those three projects would be effective flood defences at very long last.

Throughout the country and throughout the word, communities are not going to be evacuated and relocated, if they are lucky, because "we can't win a war against water". We are not that species. We can and will win, because we are this species.

If politicians cannot or will not act accordingly, then replace them. In this country, we are fortunate enough to be able to that simply by voting. Another hung Parliament is coming, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it.

It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post. I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign.
