Shadow Boxing

Shadow Cabinet elections? Why not?

Let each MP vote for up to one third of the required number, with that number elected at the end. Thus, a spread of voices would be guaranteed.

The dinosaurs are lucky that Corbyn is nice. The alliance between the unions and the Left would have won this election, anyway.

A less conciliatory Leader could just have announced which trade union officials and which Left activists (by no means necessarily Labour Party members at that moment) were going to be given the seats of any MPs who misbehaved.

Retirement cards would have been sent to those MPs, regardless of their ages.

Very Tony Blair. Very Alastair Campbell. Very Peter Mandelson. Sauce for the goose, and all that.

  1. ""Very Tony Blair. Very Alastair Campbell. Very Peter Mandelson. "

In other words, dictatorial and un-Parliamentary.

    1. As they were. And as Cameron. Luckily for his enemies, Corbyn is anything but dictatorial, and is utterly parliamentary. They have dodged a bullet. Whoever the Left had put up, would have won this time.
