"What About Xi Jinping?"

On balance, Jeremy Corbyn's approach to Donald Trump's State Visit has been wrong. But Xi Jinping was not, and is not, after our NHS. Oh, and the Queen invited him. She hosted the dinner, and everything. If he is so bad, then take it up with her. Or at least with her Prime Minister of the day, who was not Jeremy Corbyn. 

We need to be on the Belt and Road, not because it is perfect, but because if you are not on the bus then you are under it. And we would get to keep the NHS. Unlike in any trade deal with the United States, whether of our own or, as has already been attempted, under the aegis of the European Union.

I have family in America. I have many, many friends there. I have been published in The American Conservative. But it is a foreign country, with its own culture and its own interests. That speaking the same language, or having been on the same side in the War, gives countries a "Special Relationship", is the kind of thing that only children believe.

How was "the Anglosphere" when we were at war with the Americans, or before they entered the two World Wars several years into each of them? Do we have a "Special Relationship" with Russia based on the Second World War? Well, there you are, then. As for "the Leader of the Free World", are you 12? Who talks about any President of the United States like that? 12-year-olds, that's who. He is not elected or paid to be "the Leader of the Free World". He is elected and paid to be the President of the United States.

A new party will be registered in the coming days, even if I have to pay for it myself, ongoing lawfare or no ongoing lawfare. And I will stand for Parliament here at North West Durham even if I can raise only the deposit, which I could do by going pretty overdrawn, although that was not how I was brought up. I would still prefer to raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign, but I am no longer making my candidacy conditional on having done so.
