The Thump of the New Politics

So, Andrew Fisher once said that he would like to thump James Purnell?

Purnell, who ran off to something far more lucrative at the BBC (having previously had Ministerial responsibility for broadcasting) because he could not hack it in politics, embodied everything that was most vicious and spiteful about New Labour.

He was Iain Duncan Smith without the compassion, George Osborne without the charm. Andrew would have had to have joined a very long queue.
