Unforgettable, Darling

I insist that Alistair Darling be succeeded by another of my cousins. My mother maintains that my eyebrows will still be black after my hair has turned white.

At every Prime Minister's Questions, and on numerous occasions between those events, David Cameron and his minions howl that the United Kingdom was "bankrupt" when they assumed office.

In point of fact, there was no recession on the day of the 2010 General Election, and this country had a Triple A credit rating.

Between that day and this, the present Government has borrowed more than all past Labour Governments put together.
