Profit Without Honour In His Own Country

They were baffled by the widespread hatred exhibited at the time of the death of Margaret Thatcher.

They would not begin to understand the continuing abomination of the name of Winston Churchill (a "hidden immigrant", according to UKIP and the Daily Express) in the old mining areas.

And likewise, Americans just do not get the revulsion in Britain at the mere thought of Tony "Save The Children" Blair.

The only international parallel of which I can think is the deep and wide loathing of Mikhail Gorbachev in Russia.

But can anyone think of any others? An American one, perhaps?
