Not Woolf, But Woolfie

This is what England now means. Not Britain. England.

In England, so much as looking vaguely on the Tory side now constitutes disqualification from almost anything, and definition instead as The Problem.

To which The Solution, if he is available, is always Michael Mansfield QC.

He already has Hillsborough. He will undoubtedly be given Orgreave. He is being pretty much demanded for the child abuse inquiry, instead of first a retired Lord Justice of Appeal and now the Lord Mayor of London.

Although I fail to see why a random selection using the electoral register, as for jurors, could not be employed, if they cannot get him, then the appointment looks set to be from abroad.

No one else in this country is regarded as capable. Only the man who wrote the Constitution of Arthur Scargill's Socialist Labour Party.

Even the most purely social or cultural Toryism is The Shame of the Nation. Whereas the Old Hard Left is The Soul of the Nation.

That is what England now means. Not Britain. England.
