I do not like to see those images of Stalin and Mao, either.
But Stalin was so much our ally during the War that we still have streets named after him.
And why not? We really did fight the War, not only with him, but essentially and effectively for him.
It was Churchill who dubbed him "Uncle Joe".
Yet neither Churchill nor anyone else ever did think that Stalin was benign, or even mostly harmless.
We ILPers will have our day.
