Has anyone ever heard of this person, David Skelton, who makes such a play of having grown up in Consett?
He is the same age as I am, and I have been politically active in these parts for 20 years.
But no one to whom I have spoken, including in each and all of the Consett wards, finds that his name rings even the faintest of bells.
He is also at least 10 years out of date if he thinks that that town is a Labour stronghold electorally.
