We do not have one, because the people whose role it would most obviously be to argue for one have no idea that any distinctive British culture exists.
Hence the ridicule and vitriol directed at those in France who are resisting attempts to teach some university degrees there in English. There is no suggestion that British English would be used.
But those spitting their contempt, and who entirely control the economic, social, cultural and political life of the United Kingdom, have only the dimmest awareness of the existence of British English.
They are probably not even going out of their way to suppress and replace it, since that would require an appreciation of what they were doing.
Even the old Communist Party of Great Britain used to disagree with the USSR from time to time. And while it did sometimes arrange showings of Soviet films and that sort of thing, it never laboured any misapprehension that the culture of the Soviet Union actually was the culture of this country.
The Thatcherites, the Blairites and the Orange Bookers are worse than the Tankies ever were. Very worst of all, they do not even realise that they are doing it.
