Benefit Gig No Show

The only beneficiaries from the seven-day wait for benefits will be the pay day loan sharks and the food banks.

And then the benefits will be paid anyway, although the loans will have had to have been taken out by then.

It is no wonder that right-wing commentators have been pulling out at the last minute this evening, rather than go on television and debate with Owen Jones.

Yes, that has actually been happening.

  1. Owen Jones, educated in Marxist History (what a surprise) runs away or blocks people on Twitter, whenever his arguments get demolished in print. The amount of times it's happened is embarrassing.

Watch the "Car Crash TV" clip of Andrew Neil making fun of him.

He even once wrote (can you believe this?) that Clement Attlee founded the British welfare state.

Two journalists politely pointed out Jones was an idiot-because the welfare state was created in 1911.

Jones obviously didn't reply. He's an embarrassment.

  2. Well, he has been an awfully frightening embarrassment to your lot in recent hours.

Andrew Neil? Puh-lease! Compère of a late night chat show, might as well be Graham Norton or Jonathan Ross.

The most consistent abuse of Owen comes from Damian Thompson and those who depend on his patronage.

Such as his and Michael Gove's Fredo Corleone, Toby Young. And the ridiculous Hodges creature, who will never now be an MP, whereas Owen certainly will be, if not in 2015, then in 2020.

In Thompson's case, it is very simple: vicious old queens out of 1970s sitcoms are just not what it is about these days, and doesn't she know it. So don't go there, luv. Just don't.

  3. "vicious old queens"

Had to laugh at that one-Owen Jones is the biggest queen of them all.

A queen of queens, one might say.
