Comprehensive

Ed Miliband did not claim to have had it tough on the way up. His only claim was to have attended the same sort of school as 93 per cent of the population. Which by definition includes the whole of the middle class, properly so called.

And his real target was not David Cameron. Who would bother to think about him anymore? Up to a point, it was Tony Blair. Up to rather more of a point, it was Harriet Harman.

But above all, it was Ed Balls, who can never be Labour Leader after this, and who is effectively still in place on sufferance. The mere mention of where he went to school is enough to finish him off.
