Oh, well, the public school and the bitter old Blairite line
from the huddle is obvious enough where this morning's oration is concerned. But I for one fell asleep during it. I bet that I was not the only one. Let's wait for the polls and
then the upcoming by-elections (you know, real votes), shall we? We all know
what they are going to say.
No less than Margaret Thatcher was removed by her own party
after a by-election at which it had done better than it is about to do three times
in one night, in one case in what remains for the time being nominally a
Conservative seat.
If that Corby result, especially, is as bad as it looks as
if it is going to be, then Cameron's days really will be numbered? Or has his
party lost its survival instinct altogether? We are about to find out. They
know that they are not going to win in 2015. But they still don't fancy being
wiped off the map. Do they?
