A Proper Charlie

Why would he join a party led by David Miliband? And even if that man does not win, Kennedy can do far more good in the same way as Simon Hughes can and should, fighting on the Coalition's own side for civil liberties and proper policing, for proper sentencing and prison discipline on that condition, for the show-stopping Empty Chair Policy in our secret legislature, for the abolition of the Common Agricultural and Fisheries Policies, for council housing, for the maximum multiple accepted in principle by David Cameron, for the universal minimum income accepted in principle by Iain Duncan Smith, for public transport, for a free NHS, for a democratic BBC, for the breaking up of media empires, for a Coroner's Inquest into the death of Dr David Kelly, and for so much else besides.
