Richmond Borough Council, which allowed a public building to be used for an Assassinate The Pope rally (addressed by Peter "Sex With 14-Year-Olds" Tatchell), is controlled by the Conservative Party, and every other member of it is a Lib Dem, so on the same side now.
But then, most places with too large a Catholic population to offend in this way would have a Labour Council, and most places with a Labour Council would have too large a Catholic population to offend in this way. Roll on electoral reform, and with it a formation which takes proper account of these realities in a more positive and systematic way.
