A Lib-Lab Pact?
Although Ming Campbell as Speaker might very well happen anyway, this is completely unsaleable to the Labour Party in the North of England, and in local government generally. They would rather go into coalition with the Tories, and actually do so a lot more often than the London media might think. Usually, that is specifically to keep out the Lib Dems.

I thought they just did as they are told these days.
ReplyDeleteThey have yet to be told to do this.
ReplyDeleteLabour and the Lib Dems in the North despise each other (whereas Labour and such Tories as there are tend to get on). They would walk out of both parties if told to go into coalition with the other one.
