The Court of Appeal has ruled that Carole Cadwalladr must pay £1.2 million towards Arron Banks’s legal costs, in addition to £35,000 in damages, plus her own ongoing legal costs. Cadwalladr is crowdfunding to pay all of that, or to appeal, or something. I mean, who cares? The point is that she is crowdfunding.
TED is a non-profit organisation, but The Observer is published by the Scott Trust, which has £1.3 billion in the bank. Yet because of something published in The Observer, Cadwalladr is having to crowdfund. Take the hint, Carole. Take the hint.
The Guardian and the Observer are offering moral support.
