There are people who are rightly proud of having no debt. Yet Rishi Sunak is involuntarily indebting to the State everyone who used domestic electricity.
Considering how much he has written off in Covid-19 fraud, why does he expect everyone else to pay back this discount? There will be an awful lot of writing off this time, too, with a great deal of resentment from people who had had to pay.
Sunak is still the best available alternative Prime Minister. But that is not saying very much.
Imagine Corbyn and McDonnell had come up with this and the Council Tax rebate.
ReplyDeleteThey would have done a lot better than that. But if Blair and Brown had come up with this, or even more so Miliband and Balls, then there would have been hell to pay about "Communism" and what not.
