Boris Johnson did promise a deal, so whatever else No Deal might be, then it would certainly be a failure on his part.
No previous Prime Minister has had his brass neck, but if he did nevertheless resign, then his most likely successor would seem to be Rishi Sunak.
Not only would I then be older than the Prime Minister, but so would every candidate for Lanchester at the County Council elections in May.
Indeed, that is custom and practice. Every candidate for Lanchester was older than the Prime Minister at the District Council elections in 1999, at the County Council elections in 2001, and at the unitary County Council elections in 2013, just off the top of my head.
As would also be the case if Sunak were Prime Minister next year, I am not talking about a very slight age difference, either. They were all old enough to have taught him in school, and most of them were old enough to have been his parents.
No he didn’t. The only “deal” he promised in the election was the Withdrawal Agreement.
ReplyDeleteHe promised a deal. I am not saying that he should have done. But he did.
DeleteHe did not. The “oven-ready deal” was the Withdrawal Agreement. He did not promise any trade deal.
ReplyDeleteIf that's what you have to tell yourself to get through the night.
DeleteIt’s a fact. The deal was the one passed by Parliament as soon as he won the Election-hence he called it oven ready.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with that.
