Bring The National Infrastructure Bank To Consett

This has been sent to various newspapers:

We welcome the proposal for a National Infrastructure Bank, to be headquartered in the North of England. We believe that the best location would be Consett. Consett was emblematic of deindustrialisation in the 1980s, and it is the largest town in the parliamentary constituency of North West Durham, which has come to be regarded as the archetypal Red Wall seat.

Yours faithfully,

David Lindsay, Independent parliamentary candidate for North West Durham, 2019 and 2024
Councillor Alex Watson, Durham County Councillor for Consett, former Executive Leader of Derwentside District Council
Alderman Clive Robson, former Durham County Councillor for Consett, former Deputy Leader of Durham County Council
