If Britain has the highest demand for clothes in Europe, leading to enormous "carbon footprints", then why not, you know, make the clothes here? I am fairly sure that we used to. But would that be further impoverishing people in China or Bangladesh? Only if nobody wore clothes in China or Bangladesh. I am fairly sure that they do.
Another hung Parliament is coming, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. A new party is now in the process of registration.
