Acceptable In The Eighties?

When Margaret Thatcher used that Lincolnshire dialect word of her girlhood, then she did so spontaneously, in a moment of exasperation. 

In Johnson's case, it is pure affectation. 

As was his blather about "the Kremlin". He'll be wearing her two-pieces next. He might usefully adopt her hairdo.
