The world's greatest living journalist, Julian Assange, must not be extradited to anywhere. The only purpose of extraditing him to Sweden would be to send him to his death in the United States. As the drum of war beats against Iran, we need him more than ever.
In any case, extradition to Sweden even on the official pretext would endorse the criminalisation of male heterosexual activity be criminalised per se, with the simple accusation as enough to convict. Everyone who supports the extradition of Julian Assange to Sweden must be of that view, and must wish to enact such legislation in his or her own country.
Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post.
