Of course animals matter. But of course people matter more. No animal ever matters more than any human being. It is as simple as that. If you want to know what the "biodiversity before development" lot are really about, then consider David Miliband's evil decision to declare a "marine reserve" around the Chagos Islands, in order to prevent the return of the illegally and immorally exiled Islanders.
No one would ever do that to the Falkland Islanders. Google some images of them and of the Chagossians, and see if you can spot the difference. In the same vein is the view that there are somehow too many people in the world. Which people, exactly? We all know the answer to that one.
Oh, how the people whose political vehicle is going to be run off the road two weeks tomorrow laugh at Jeremy Corbyn's support the Chagossian cause, a support that is the infallible mark of being outside the British Establishment.
They are also laughing today at Richard Burgon's intention to participate in this Saturday's Justice for Palestine march, "as if his provincial peasant constituents Somewhere Up North could possibly care." What fun it is going to be watching Chuka Umunna's meltdown when even Gavin Esler fails to be elected.
Beyond that, another hung Parliament is coming, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post. I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
