The neoconservative rabble-rouser Daniel Finkelstein is, like Andrew Adonis, part of the SDP Diaspora that had been on the brink of taking over British political life completely until, for all his faults, along came Jeremy Corbyn. Finkelstein ought now to be the next on Gavin Williamson's to-sue list.
Notice that Williamson's removal from the Cabinet on the orders of an unelected "National Security Adviser", arising out of events at a "National Security Council" with no statutory basis for its existence, has made possible the entry into the Cabinet of MI6 royalty. That princeling has almost immediately been announced as the next Prime Minister.
Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post.
