A Dragon To Be Slain Elsewhere

I am sorry that George Galloway will not be contesting the Peterborough by-election after all, especially as it was promising to be quite the reunion on the campaign trail.

But I have heard very good things about the Labour candidate, Lisa Forbes. Or, if you did want to make this about Brexit, then a breakthrough by the SDP in the person of Patrick O'Flynn would send quite a signal. Indeed, in its present incarnation, the SDP is part of the emerging future.

Meanwhile, George is now free to pursue his clear mission in contemporary British politics, the desperately necessary removal from her seat in Parliament of the egregious, and the increasingly preposterous, Jess Phillips.

Beyond that, another hung Parliament is coming, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post.

I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
