I am the only candidate at North West Durham who is both anti-austerity and pro-Brexit, recognising the role of the EU in enforcing the austerity programme, which is why the Liberal Democrats love them both so much.
And at least assuming that Laura Pidcock lost her seat, and possibly even if she kept it, then I am also the only candidate at North West Durham this time who might have any intention of contesting this seat next time.
Either Pidcock or Richard Holden would be looking for somewhere safer, while the Brexit Party will no longer exist, and Watts Stelling, three times defeated, will be in his seventies.
