Roll of Honour

The MPs who voted against the cancellation of Prime Minister's Questions tomorrow:

Hugh Bayley (York Central)
Jeremy Corbyn (Islington North)
John Cryer (Leyton and Wanstead)
Paul Flynn (Newport West)
George Galloway (Bradford West)
Jim Hood (Lanark and Hamilton East)
George Howarth (Knowsley North and Sefton East)
Ian Lavery (Wansbeck)
John McDonnell (Hayes and Harlington)
Jim McGovern (Dundee West)
Ian Mearns (Gateshead)
Grahame Morris (Easington)
Dennis Skinner (Bolsover)

Tellers:

Kelvin Hopkins (Luton North)
Steve Rotheram (Liverpool Walton)

So, that's two of the three backbenchers on the National Executive Committee of the Labour Party.

And both of frontbencher Pat Glass's closest backbench allies. This seat is now very far from the fiefdom of the post-1994 Right that it was under Hilary.

Nor is that fact any bar to advancement in the post-2010 Labour Party that is about to sweep, of all things, the English County Elections.

  1. I feel I should accord a degree of respect to a funeral....any funeral. But everything about this funeral lacks dignity and is almost beyond parody, satire and sarcasm.
It is the very zenith of Reality Television. I have dubbed it "myBig Fat Tory Funeral" and it will certainly go down well in Chelsea and Essex...if not the Geordie Shore.
It even has Jeremy Clarkson who must surely someday emulate Carol Thatcher in the celebrity jungle.
An absolute disgrace and Thatchers funeral divides as much as her life.
Politics is so short term and I blog because I like to identify precedent and consequences in events.
I am completely dumbfounded by this...on sober reflection the emotion and public grief around Diana is embarrassing even for those who indulged in it.
Yet it has been reprised today.

David...do you actually see long term effect with Thatcher funeral? I do....but I have absolutely no idea what they are.
