Why Auntie Misses The Points

The Tories are only two points ahead today, which is well within the margin of error. Even the people carefully chosen to receive free Biros and the like every time that they are called up to give the right answer are now giving the wrong one, but still claiming their free Biros and the like. How grating it must be for the pollsters.

But congratulations to Today and to The World At One for ignoring this story completely. Today also decided that not having Osborne on at the same time was too high a price to pay for having anything so trivial as an interview with the Chancellor the morning after the Budget, so it just interviewed Osborne instead. Who will be on tonight's Question Time panel? I'm betting on Cameron, Osborne, Hague, Gove and, just for a bit of balance, some hack like, say, Daniel Finkelstein. Oh, and dear old David Dimbleby, of course.

Remember why this is. The BBC loves the Tories because they promise to restore Blairism, to restore the Blairites, and to restore Blair.

Well that is the view of Peter Hitchens, who thinks the tories are "Marxoid", which you must do too since you think Blairites are trots. Back on earth, it is all news to everyone else.

  2. Well, why do you think that the Beeb loves the Cameroons, then?
