The Who?

Not that they are all bad. Even bits of Tommy are good, unutterably ghastly though the thing as a whole is. But those who think that wars are conservative, consider that there is always a baby boom after a war; that the bigger the war, the bigger the baby boom; and that the really big baby booms after really big wars impose their tastes and attitudes for decades and decades on end.

  2. The Baby Bommers love wars. They believe in sex, drugs and rock'n'roll imposed globally by force of arms. It's called neoconservatism.

  3. Mr. Lindsay,

Good point. Isn't that the rationale behind so many of the color-coded revolutions? We should support the young, sexy, upwardly mobile people because they are concerned with important issues such as more access to a greater array of cool consumer goods.

We need to oppose those evil, boring, and hidebound industrial workers, public sectors workers, and peasants, who care about such useless things as family wages and public services. Oh, and they are fascists and/or communists too.
