Unguarded
The Guardian's final withdrawal from Manchester does not make it "more Londoncentric". That would be impossible for any of the "national" media. The Guardian used to publish a Northern edition full of football instead of politics, such was its grasp of the North of England even then. Roll on Rod Liddle's Editorship of The Independent for perhaps monthly columns, perhaps two per day, from the four dozen or so corners of this Kingdom.
