I doubt that the Government will lose Tuesday's vote on a referendum on AV, a system which I am told that even those who teach these things professionally tend to ignore. But it says a lot that this is seriously being suggested, with many retiring Labour MPs expected not to turn up and with the Lib Dems on course to abstain.
Mercifully, lowering the voting age to 16 would never reach the floor of the House as any Government's proposal. Would it...?
