A serious politician, seeing his idea (if it really were his idea) given practical effect, would be pleased.
But, of course, David Cameron is not a serious politician. He and Osborne are Blair-like figures: telegenic half-wits with no intellectual curiosity whatever and charm that it cost their parents a fortune to acquire for them.
