The forfeiture of his knighthood has not yet occurred, so do they still call him “Sir Jeffrey” in HMP Maghaberry, which he must have visited many times in 27 years as the MP for Lagan Valley, where it is located?
On 26 June 1997, Jonathan Aitken resigned from the Privy Council, but Jeffrey Donaldson has not done so, nor has he been removed. I have been cursed to my face by a right-wing Labour grandee for having chased up that one about Peter Mandelson for months on Twitter, on Guido Fawkes, and elsewhere. I would be more than willing to do it again. Meanwhile, one of Mandy’s Boys, James Purnell, is about to be made Chief of Staff to the new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham.
And until the forfeiture of her husband’s knighthood, then she remains Eleanor, Lady Donaldson. How desperately ill she must be. I had been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, paranoid personality disorder, anankastic personality disorder, anxious personality disorder, and an Autism Spectrum Disorder, possibly Asperger’s Syndrome. Yet, and I doubt that the law in Northern Ireland is much different, there was never the slightest suggestion of my unfitness to plead. Surely Lady Donaldson is not now living alone?
