Damages

We have all paid £15,000 to Professor Kate Sang because Michelle Donelan had libelled her. Just how common is it for employers to cover this sort of thing? Would they not be more likely to sack such a person than to pick up her tab?

In 2022, Donelan was given severance pay of £16,876.25 when she resigned as Education Secretary after only two days in the job. She said that we would be donating it to charity, but who knows? At the very least, this latest payment should be deducted from her present salary.

And how can this be the deal?
