Behaviour Training?

I am no fan of those reeducation camps, either. But Ken Maginnis, who has always been like this, was always held up as a liberal within the Ulster Unionist Party, which was itself always held up as liberal voice within Unionism in general. And you know what? He was, and it was.

The culture that expresses itself politically as Ulster Unionism is about as British as eating dog meat. Try holding an Orange march in your local town centre. There is no constituency in Great Britain where the now-dominant DUP could keep its deposit (and I know about lost deposits), or even get the 10 signatures necessary to get onto the ballot paper. If there is, then tell me where, exactly.

As for the House of Lords, it is growing quite fierce in its old age. Not so long ago, it threatened its first expulsion since the Royal Family's German relatives had had to be stripped of their British peerages for having fought on the other side in the First World War. And now, this. Still, I cherish an affection for the place. People say that 2020 has been a bad year. But I have had two friends appointed to the House of Lords, and another one made a Cardinal. I have had far worse years than that.
