For being interested in politics rather than in football, and for ever having read a book, the Labour Right has been calling me "autistic" for 25 years and counting. One of them tried to post a comment about it on here only this week. He had gone to the trouble of writing a song. I wish that I had allowed it up.
In those people's fiefdom of the education system, then I would certainly now be "diagnosed" as "on the autistic spectrum" and subjected to heavy chemical coshing. Unlike Greta Thunberg, boys are quite routinely placed on the autistic spectrum in order to diagnose and treat their political opinions and interests as an illness, not in order to elevate them to the status of sages. Of course, there is also a strong class element here.
The perpetrators of these crimes against humanity are about to take back control of the Labour Party, if they ever really lost it. But ours is the 2020 Vision of a new political party, a new think tank, a new weekly newspaper, a new monthly cultural review, a new quarterly academic journal, and so much else besides.
