Open Arms

It says an enormous amount that the Bullingdon Club has gone to China in order to conduct the next Conservative Leadership Election.

After all, as that Club's members have taken such delight in pointing out, that power, the standing contradiction of any theory that capitalism and liberal democarcy depend on each other, now controls London's water supply and Heathrow Airport, among other things.

Boris Johnson has been making lyrical about Chinese involvement in our nuclear power. What next, the Royal Mail? At the rate that that one is moving, China might already own it.

Still, anything is better than ownership by the British State, eh? That would be Marxism or something. Wouldn't it?
