Beginning At Home
It turns out that we give exactly the £300 million in overseas aid to India that she in turn pays out as overseas aid. At least we are not therefore funding that economic superpower's nuclear weapons or her space programme. But, once we have found the one million needed to ensure that the BBC Hindi Service continues to reach its 20 million listeners, how about pooling those monies and the ones saved by ending aid to China, and then dividing them in half, fifty per cent to be further divided per capita among the 324 local authority areas in England, the other fifty per cent to be further divided per capita among the British Overseas Territories?
