Lifestyles of The Rich and Famous

The American-based popular television presenter and hedge fund trader Niall Ferguson has apparently run off with the celebrated economic migrant Ayaan Hirsi Ali, leaving his wife, Susan Douglas, one of the closest friends of David Cameron.

None of this would be of the slightest public interest were it not for the fact that Ferguson is co-writing a biography of Henry Kissinger, on whose reference Douglas, a former editor of the Sunday Express, now finds herself on the A-list of Cameron-favoured candidates, with designs on the plum seat of Stratford-upon-Avon.

So there you have it. A foreign politician has secured a safe seat in our Parliament for his foreign-based biographer's foreign-based wife. So much for the party of national sovereignty.

And why couldn't this erstwhile Fleet Street editrix find anyone in Britain to referee her application...?

  2. And rather successful one.

She has managed to get herself more persecuted in the West than she ever was in Somalia. And that hasn't done her any harm at all.
