The Usual Suspects

Since you are at it again. I know that you are going to have difficulty grasping this, but our appeal is to people who either couldn't care less what your kind thinks, or else (in very many cases) will actively support anything that you oppose, rightly recognising that anything uttered by the people who lied this country into war must by definition be a lie. There is nothing that you can possibly say or do to change their minds. Thank God.

  1. They won't get it. They're a cult and completely convinced that everyone hangs on their every word.

    Any one of pro-life, pro-family, pro-worker and anti-war is beyond their experience. They have never met anyone even vaguely like that.

    So they cannot even begin to imagine people who are strongly all four. Like they cannot even begin to imagine people who do not care what they think, never mind people who dare to disagree with them.

  2. You are doing the Lord's work, David. Always remember that, and what that makes your enemies.

    I shall be in Rome again soon, and will put in several good words for you.

  3. David, you really are going to have to disguise your very distinctive writing style a little better if you're going to fool people into thinking that 'Anonymous 11.34PM' is a disinterested passer-by.

    In fact, I'm genuinely curious as to why so many of your fans:

    (a) write exactly the way you do (vocabulary, sentence length, verbal cadences, favourite talking points);
    (b) never seem to have blogs of their own, thus making it impossible to verify their independent existence.

    And indeed why I don't think any of these senior political figures who apparently hang on your every word and constantly ring you up for your views are ever identified, either by you or indeed themselves.

  4. Not guilty, Your Honour! I hadn't the time to blog at all yesterday, only to check my emails and so put comments up (or not).

    Shared talking points are shared interests, and if there is a shared writing style then it must be due to shared education.

    Which is why of course I don't identify people, nor do they identify themselves. The very idea! As I say, shared interests and shared education.

  5. Oh, I don't suppose even David realises just how much influence he has. I know for a fact that this blog is read in some very, very exalted circles indeed in the Catholic Church. I don't know whether Pope Benedict is aware of David's existence, but some of his closest advisers certainly are. In a discreet way, David is one of the most powerful Catholic voices in the blogosphere.

  6. If you say so, I suppose. It's certainly news to me.
