What Blackest of Days Is This!

A rabble-rousing neoconservative demagogue as President of the French Republic, and a rabble-rousing separatist demagogue as First Minister of Scotland! Still, at least the former actually won his election. The latter lost an election specifically on the Union, at which far more Unionists than separatists were returned. Yet he has somehow become First Minister anyway. North Britons should disregard his illegitimate and treasonable regime's every edict, and neither Her Majesty's Government nor the Parliament of the United Kingdom should have any dealings with it.

  1. There are many things they say about Salmond such as arrogant, bombastic and evasive but the term demagogue only seems to be used by English commentators about him.

At the end of the day the other parties had the option to keep the SNP out of power. However the Tories do not do deals with Labour and the Lib Dems ruled out another coalition with Labour. Particuarly after Labour had been threatening to dump them and go solo after this election if they had stayed the largest party.

And the press said Salmond should get first crack of the whip.

Do not use the term "North Britons". It is generally considered an patronising insult up here both amongst Nationalists and Unionists. It harks back to a time when Scotland was "North Britain" or NB - and the UK was "England". Not even recalcitant Tories use the term as most are nationalists with a small "n".

How is an SNP regime illegitimate anyway? Salmond received the royal warrant today, received his seal of office and will probably meet the Queen next week. Probably be sworn into the Privy Council as well.

And all under the auspices of the Scotland Act-----

And how can it be treasonable. The law I believe says that to commit treason you have to wage war or abet those waging war on the monarch's person or realm. Do not see much war waginng there.

Is Colonel Blimp alive and well in Lanchester?

Don't you find all of this ever so slightly ridiculous, all things considered?

And the answer to you question is yes, many, many, many times over...
