And now the line is that Andrew Gwynne was an ally of Jeremy Corbyn's. That is laughably false, and raises the question of why, in that case, Keir Starmer had ever appointed him. In reality, Gwynne nominated Starmer for Leader in 2020. But here we are.
If Gwynne took down his little helper, Oliver Ryan, with him, then Gordon Birtwistle might return to the House of Commons at the age of 81. Last year, his vote went up from nine per cent to 23.1 as he moved from third place to second. A distant second but still second to Gwynne at Gorton and Denton, at Burnley Reform UK came fourth.
Even the BBC has named Ryan now.
